3. Data Security and Status Processing

When you request a grant status check, the Android app sends your South African ID number and application phone number over HTTPS to the official SASSA status service. If a direct connection fails, these details pass through our Google Cloud relay in Johannesburg, South Africa, which forwards the request to SASSA and returns the result. We do not store your ID number, phone number or status results on the relay. Our application logs exclude these details. Google Cloud infrastructure processes ordinary request metadata, such as IP address, request time and response status, for operation and security; this metadata is not necessarily deleted when the query ends.

Firebase App Check with Play Integrity verifies requests from the Android app. If you enable Remember on this phone, your details are saved locally after a successful check until you use Clear my details or clear the app's data. Remembering is optional. Every status check requests a fresh result. Sharing a result sends the content you choose to the app or recipient you select; check the preview before sharing.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. All data transmissions between your device and our servers are encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

4. Third-Party Services

Our platform uses third-party services to deliver functionality and content:

• Government APIs: We fetch your status directly from official sources via secure channels.
• Advertising Partners: The Android app uses Google AdMob. Its SDK may process IP addresses, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic information to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud. Ad personalisation depends on applicable consent and settings. We do not send the ID number or application phone number entered in the status form as advertising parameters. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Our website may use Google AdSense to display advertisements, which helps keep our tool free for all users. These partners may use cookies to serve personalized ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
• Analytics: The Android app uses Firebase Analytics for app usage events and device/app information. We do not intentionally include your status-form ID number, phone number or grant results in analytics events. We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our platform and to improve our service offerings.
